I had a long dream overnight about being responsible for a baby elephant, and I woke up totally exhausted from chasing, cleaning, lifting, pushing and pulling it.

A very young female elephant, it was lovable and cute, but completely uncontrollable. We had gone into a large, open-air food store to look for 50 lb. bags of organic corn meal, and the large baby had gotten loose in the store.

She was happily eating strawberries and other fruits & vegetables right out of the bins and rumbling through the aisles while I chased after her and tried to clean up the mess as I went.

Somehow, she climbed up onto the high shelves and overhead spaces, and I had to ‘rescue’, or more correctly, push, pull and cajole her to a safer place. As she was well over 400 pounds and very active, I was getting more shoved around than I was doing any moving to safety. I woke up sweat-soaked and tired.
