Impenetrable

Monday 12 December 2022

“Impenetrable.” You said this word to me when I looked at thickets and brambles, deeply tangled underbrush. I saw tangled woven masses of thorns and woody brush. “I couldn’t even put my hand in there, Lord, let alone make a way through these woods. Everything around me feels tangled and thorny and impassible.”

Yes, child, much has been woven around you, even in you, that your enemy thinks will trap and ensnare you. Yet in your prayers, Judith speaks truth: My birds easily fly in and out of such tangled thorns, my creatures of the earth move through them, and none are hurt.

To your enemies, I AM IMPENETRABLE, as your shield and protection! Yet to those who love me, seek me, live in me, you come in and out of me as birds through the thickets.
