I am standing outside in the cold morning air, when clearly, very clearly, I hear these words, these commands, this Power, This Love:
My Watchstanders, Hear ME! Oh MY Watchstanders, listen to ME, hear MY charge to you! The time is coming, the time is nigh here for you to Report what you see, what you hear, from the walls, from the shore, from the skies, from the battlements, from the streets and fields and cities. (powerfully loud now) Do you not stand on watch for me, for your own people and families, for All MY Children of America? Your duty then, your charge, is clear.
Is it sometimes lonely, and dark, standing your watch? No one asks you – because they trust you watchstanders to do as you are charged – to say “danger” and “wrong” when you see, speak Truth, because you Report to ME first.
Sing, sing this to ME again, and consider each word:
Oh, Beautiful for spacious skies
For amber waves of grain
For purple mountains majesty
Across the fruited plain
America, America
GOD shed His Grace on Thee
And crown thy Good
With Brotherhood
From Sea to Shining Sea
